EZCC changes the 'Kolkata Theatre Festival', 2015 Schedule

The programme schedule of  'Kolkata Theatre Festival', 2015 at Bharatiyam Complex, EZCC is being chanded due to the sudden death of our former President APJ Abdul Kalam. The 'People's President', was laid to rest in his hometown Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu today.

This festival will be start from 3 august,2015, said the director of EZCC  Dr. Om Prakash Bharti.
 In the one month’s festival, more than 100 plays will be presented. The theatre show will be followed by interaction sessions, seminar on the topic of ‘The Multiple Streams of Indian Theatre’, exhibition on ‘The Journey of Kolkata Theatre’, poster campaign and Theatre Haat. Theatre personalities from different parts of the country are being invited for an interaction session.
In the interaction and seminar sessions the different streams of Indian theatre will be discussed in the presence of eminent theatre scholars and practitioners like Ratan Thiyam, Govind Namdev, Satish Anand, G.S.Balwanth, Dulal Roy, D.P.Sinha, Bibhash Chakraborty, Kanhaiyya Lal, Sabitri Kanhaiyya Lal, Rudra Prasad, Manoj Mitra, Shamik Bandopadhyay, B. Jayashree and many more.
Following are the Sub- themes of seminar-
1. Sanskrit Theatre
2. Folk Theatre and Traditional Theatre
3. Major theatre Movements
4. Contemporary works by eminent theatre directors of India (Dulal Roy,B.V.Karanth, Ratan Thiyam, Pannikar etc)
5. Theatre in regional languages. 
6. Rural theatre of India.
